Autumn is just around the corner.

Since I last posted on this blog, weatherwise we went through more extreme heat and no rain. Now we're in cooler temperatures ( well, 85 degrees SEEMS cool after this year's summer, but STILL no rain of any consequence. There are many fields full of corn that just died and the trees are losing their leaves more from dehydration than the normal autumn process. There is however one bountiful harvest - especially if you're a squirrel - and that is that it rains acorns these days. While I sit by my window, I hear them falling from the surrounding oak trees and the local wildlife is taking a great interest in them.

I can't be sure but I think another sign of the passing of summer is that the hummingbirds are no longer to be seen and have started on their long flight south. The feeders are now attracting yellowjackets instead so it's time for them to be stored away until next year.

I've been very busy preparing my online stores for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Some recent sales - thanks so much to the buyers !
